Technical Consultant

Squiz are looking for the right mix of technical skills and personality to join our team in supporting Squiz clients whose projects are live (post-production), and require ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, redesign, further development etc.

Duties will include:

• Server and DB administration
• OO Programming
• Content Management System configuration and upgrade
• Phone and Email Support (using a ticketing system)
• System setup and optimisation
• Training / Consulting

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication skills and enjoy working with a team in what is sometimes a high-pressure environment. In addition, to be considered you will need:

• Programming experience in PHP or other web-scripting languages
• A good understanding of the open source web technologies – eg Linux, MySql, PostgreSQL – you will be expected to have some system administration skill
• Good skills in coding HTML, Javascript and CSS
  
• Excellent phone manner with a proactive attitude to problem solving
• To be fast at learning new functionality and extensions as they are added to our 2 content management systems (MySource Classic and MySource Matrix)

The following skills are also valued:

• Training experience
• Content writing or proof-reading skills
• Flash/Photoshop

Support will be provided at Squiz's Leichhardt office or onsite with the client. The position will include occasional short trips interstate as Squiz also services clients in Queensland, Victoria, the ACT and Tasmania.
