Sustainability

In 2006, Squiz formed a Business Sustainability Group to look at how we could address the issue of reducing our impact on the environment - both at work and at home.

As part of this initiative Squiz produces a monthly internal publication called ‘Going Green’ which keeps our staff informed on the initiatives towards becoming a sustainable business and being responsible corporate citizens. Squiz participated in the 2007 ‘Earth Hour’ and promoted it on our website.

We actively participate in recycling, planting of trees to offset carbon emissions and no longer buy products which require batteries. PC monitors are set to power off rather than using screen savers during periods of inactivity and computers are switched off at the close of business. We always specify ‘low energy usage’ hardware when buying new servers and where possible, hardware used to develop the software is recycled.

Squiz software is always delivered by electronic means (no CDs) and we are moving our software manuals from printed to electronic only distribution.
